The Warangal city was the ancient capital of the Kakatiyas, ruled by a series of brave kings with some historically heard names such as the Rudra Deva, Ganapathi Deva, Pratapa Rudra and Rani Rurdrama Devi, who was the only woman ruler in Andhra. The Kakatiya rulers left many monuments including the impressive Fortress, Four massive stone gateways, a big Shivate temple and a big lake one such beautiful temple architecture is the ancient Ramappa Temple, an architectural marvel that was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the 25th of July, 2021. A crowning glory, the temple is located in the picturesque valley of Palampet Village, dedicated to Lord Shiva.
